New free track ‘aztec’ uploaded

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

I’ve just updated the free tracks section of the music page with a newly uploaded free mp3 download track called ‘aztec’.

This track was created for a commission competition for an iphone game where the user controls an aztec tribe but was unused so I’m giving it away here for free. It is an instrumental featuring balafon, bass, snare and jaw harp and is supposed to have something of an Aztec feel, obviously!

You can listen to it below or head over to the music page where it is less lonely among friends.

Good news, everyone!

My first full album ‘one of his eyes resembled that of a vulture’ is now available for download.

You can listen to the album at the album page, or head over to my bandcamp page, where you can download the album (it can also be streamed at bandcamp).

Ouistiti - One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture

The album was written, recorded and produced in my home studio during February 2009. It was recorded using only FOSS (free open source software), and the excellent 64 Studio linux distribution – mad props!

Having spent much of the previous year experimenting with more electronic methods of music creation with pigsqueal producing, for the album I went back to an all live instrument method and took an experimental/improvisational approach to create what I hope has a more involving and organic feel.

I’m excited to get your feedback, so give it a spin and tell me what you think.
